Not even any views haha. I was considering a 9886 but im kinda turned off by the low volt Preouts.

Don't worry too much about that. Ive had regular 2 and 4 volt head units and the only real difference was I had to change my gain settings. The only difference I ever heard was between those and a 5 volt, low resistance head unit.

why do you need a cd changer?

alot of units will play WAV files.

you can rip the cd into wav and load it on a thumb drive.

an 8gb flash drive will be as good as a 12 cd changer... with no skipping or scratched cds

For bassrace. I have to read up some more on the rules but you used to have to play CD's, ipods/burned cd's never were allowed. Im leaning toward a 9887 if i can get it for 250. Otherwise ill look into a x693 maybe. Anything else i should consider?

Go on Caco under bargain bin, and there is a link to the 9887 for like 250 shipped. I would get that myself.

for something like that id go with alpine for sure much better crossover and eq than 693

im liking the 9887, the only turnoff is not having an ipod connection but o well. I guess i can buy it separate.

the ipod cable is not that expensive man. check craigslist or ebay you can get them cheap. as far as the imprit multieq piece im sure you can just pay someone 5-10 dollars and rent it for a day to tune it.

Idc about the Imprint. Ill buy that just to have it. I didnt check Ebay tho for the Ipod cord. I bet they are decently priced on there.

there is no point in buying the imprint for the 9887. everything that the imprint system can do the 9887 can already do on it's own. the auto-tuning is the ONLY reason to have the imprint system with a 9887, and frankly practically anyone can do a better tuning job with some time and effort since it sucks.
