Looking for a good subwoofer recommendation!

Hey gang,

First, thanks in advance for your expertise! It's helped me a lot! I am looking for a good, powered subwoofer enclosure in a 1998 Chevy Lumina. Please note the powered. This is a commuter car, so I'm not looking to win any contests with it, but hey, I like good sound right?

I have a pioneer DH 2000ub and am looking for some budget friendly, powered, sub enclosures that fit nicely in the trunk of a 1998 Chevy Lumina and still leave plenty of room to haul my wife's crap around. :)

Again, this is a commuter car, so I don't need it to rattle my neighbors windows, but just want something that delivers good sound from inside the car.

Thanks!

OP, I don't think there are any powered sub enclosures that sound good. Your best bet is to just do the normal wiring for an amp. It will make it much easier if you decide to upgrade in the future.

The RWE line of subs are a great recommendation. I had one a few years back and it sounded great. Don't give it more than about 800wrms though. (I had the 15" RWE 352) As for the amp, I would say power acoustik. Sure they are over-rated. But, my bamf has lasted 4-5 years of abuse and it move my 18" pretty good. Get a 3200 or so. The lower ones are weak-sauce.
