looking for a 16v alternator

Well it's time I start looking for a 16v alternator. What brands should I consider? Iraggi, HO? Any others? looking for a pretty big one, at least 300A. It's going to be powering 4 (for now) TurboStart 16V batteries for 4 Sundown SAZ-1500d's for my MT's.

List out some manf. and their websites, and email addresses and names if possible. Just sold an Orion HCCA-D5000 for 445 shipped, going to use that money to purchase a HO alt, and whatever is left over will go to my Kicker 1/0 wire.

Also, how many runs of 1/0 should I run from the alt to the batts? Would 1 be enough, and just do multiple runs from the batts to the amps? If so, that would be less wire, as the amps and batts will be right under each other.

the alternater is whatever volt you want it to be,it all depends on the voltage regulater,i would get a adjustable seperate voltage regulater,just some more info,you can take the rectifiers out of a alternater and then it would put out ac current.

So are you running dual alternators? In order to have dual electrical systems to still power everything stock.

correct nG. im keeping the stock alt and my redtop for the car and the mids/highs amps.

the 4 sundowns will be on 16v on the seperate circuit (16v alt + batts)

dont know where im gonna put the 2nd alt, but ill find it. i know its been done before in an explorer. ill find a way. lol.

Then I'd go with Iraggi. May not be the fastest... but he can even custom fabricate some brackets and such for you for a dual alternator setup. And the product itself is strong.

iraggi with external regulator, he jsut recently joined these boards, i live about 20 min. from him, great guy, wouldnt hesitate to buy from again

if you got 16 volt batts,the alternater would have to charge at least 17.5 to charge them properly.

ill prally get a 17v alt, not a 16v. do they make 18v?

i talked to Dom a while back, he said he could make one of the 12/16v ones with the reulator, but id rather have seperate ones, as ill be bumping while driving, this isnt just a setup for comps, so i want charged batts at all times (as much as possible)

how many batts does meade run? i know he has what, 2 or 3 alts?

that means when i want it 16v id have to switch it, and i wouldnt be able to drive becuase the 12v part of the alt wouldnt work?
