My lights barely dimmed at full tilt. Im guessing around 16,000-17,000rms when I first started playing it.
The 20,000rms is going to be what Im seeing when all my mids/highs amps are in.

The amps running at lower ohm loads makes more current. The wattage isnt good for them, but its doable. With that current and wattage together, thats when you see problems.

What does your mids and highs have to do with the BTLs? You keep saying they are seeing 5000 watts. The BTLs are probably seeing no more than 4000 watts a piece. Probably less. So there must be something else wrong with your install or what you did with it to have the subs explode like that.
You will probably end up doing the same thing to the T3s or whatever other new expensive gear you buy without properly using it. But hey it's your money and obviously not an issue.

Wasn't your last install 2 sony xplods? I hate to agree with Ngsm but I don't really see how you can all of a sudden buy 20,000$ worth of audio equipment and expect to know how to make it work properly without any experience. Not really surprised, though I do feel sorry for you. Kind of.

the sony xplodes were given to him by a friend to tie him over until he got another system. its not like he went out and bought them.

Well I sure didnt play em too hard. They were never cranked for more than ~30 seconds at a time.

The xplods werent mine. I ripped out my 6 15" Treos and i put those xplods in as a joke.

Its funny how ngism flames over here and everyone supports him, but over in my thread on roe everyone laughs at him.

It's because he doesn't have the backing over there...Plus, a lot of ROE = morons who went there from CA.com because they were clowned so much. They couldn't take it, so they left. Thus why there are so many morons on ROE.

cuz when the btl 12 was getting slammed with 10kwatts for quite sometime...the only problem was the cone hitting the spider landing...and by doing that for a while the cone will seperate from the spider....so maybe that might have happen to your btl...maybe u played a song that was below your tuning(how low is your box tuned anyway?) and it was moving way more than it should have ...might have caused the damage...thus by stressing the cone out can cause the tinsel leads to pull, and eventually seperate

on a side note...he should get either the t3 tsns 18's or tc sounds lms5400 18's. both subs will laugh at 4k watts.. to get those subs moving u need about 6k daily

id get the 5200's before the 54's.. its obvious the kid likes spl FAR more... although- i would really just use the btl's.

Dude I honestly don't know what you did.

I had a BTL 12" and even with less than optimal cone geometry the 12s have with the hi Xmax coil I didn't do what you did

and I had 20.1s strapped to this 12 @ .5 ohms. So each amp was seeing a 1/4 of an ohm.

My bet would be a problem in the Wall with back pressure. Causing the neck joints to separate. You just can't build a box and throw 3kw+ at a speaker. The box is going to come into play...when you are building pressure like that in the box and it doesn't have anywhere to go, something bad will happen.
