Lol @ my install

if you can.............it'd help ALOT to have that battery as close to the amp as possible, especially if its just for a burp. splice together like 3 or 4 runs of 1/0 for the power and again for the groud between the battery and amp.

to do this you'll strip the sheathing off like 6 or 7 inches of the runs, then you'll cut off like each run a few inches up to the end so that the last run is about 1inch long and that will go into the power terminal. the other lil runs you're gonna retwist all into each other pretty much makeing it one big run, and the end will be the 1inch section going into the power/ground terminal. the idea you want is that of the cut off ends, make sure there are no dead ends. think of dead ends like the lil wires that dont go into the terminal when you mush them in and the end of the wire isnt touching anything. this can add resistance. spread out these shorter cut ends so that all the wires are making good contact.

for burps, this will help alot. especially if you're doing low imp burps.

position is good, best position will depend on how close the box is to the the hatch, but thats differant for every install and every car. the differance may not be audible as far as best spl postion, but play with it anyways... i'd say seats down, box on passenger side and get that battery on a charger and have it fully charged for the show

as long as you burp as little as possible just to put up a score, the sub will have a chance holding up mechanically and thermally. again this isnt good for the sub, but if done right you should be ok for these short burps.

and you wonder why your car burnt to the ground....

Looks like he did the best with what he had laying around, which I think was the point. It will be installed for a day for some competition, then taken out. I doubt he plans on leaving it that way... he's just trying to figure out how to maximize his SPL with what he has in there...
........

No real competition sanctioning body would allow you to roll into the lanes with a battery 'mounted' like that. They will either laugh at you and say no, or its not a competition worth attending.

he can always set the batt outside and then tell em that its not in the cabin no more //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

i don't "wonder" why my car burnt down assclown. and for the record it was a rainwater leak AND NOT the actual stereo equipment. it was my lazy dumb *** that didnt fix this rainwater leak and that caused the fire that roasted my car.

i got this power/ground wiring splicing technique from scottie J, so if you think it's bad advice, you're just prick.

with all do respect... this may work. as a matter of fact, I'm sure it will work. But it is honestly THE dumbest thing I've seen in my life when it comes to car audio... Just buy bigger wires and/or make seperate runs like its SUPPOSED to be done. this should go in the "ghetto installs" where ever is.....

well sometimes people cant or don't readily get wire bigger than 1/0, sometimes people dont have money to make or have made for them buss bars or adapters, and sure it looks prettier to have them all seperated. but unless you're the type of person who MUST have it look normal, i wouldnt say this method is wrong.

If you wanted to be mean you could call it ghetto, but it's not like EVERY car at an spl competition is going to be beautifully organzied and fancy looking. if you insulate it well enough it's just as safe as any other method. People can point fingers about my VW fire, but then again they ussually dont read up past page 2 and don't take into account the actual cause of the fire before bad mouthing.

This method may not cosmetically hold up to your standards as "neat", but then again this is for a temporary setup to be used for 1 day AND will help the amp for the burps.

you tell me a cheaper, easier, and more efficent way to run the ends of a whole bunch of 1/0 runs into a single 1/0 terminal. Dude you call it a dumb idea, but it's not mine, it's a trick told to be by Scottie J. I'd take his advice for spl any day of the week, as would a large part of the spl community.
