You need an adapter to crossover from the big harness to the harness supplied with your pioneer deck. Like this:

You need to read/search here some more. Here are some amp kits that are good and cheap:

and with the wire harness adapter does it require anything special or do they just clip together and you put the radio in the dash
You will have to splice the wire harness adapter and deck adapter together. Then you can just clip it into your stock harness and your good to go.

alright thanks man

you have helped me a lot

but is it possible to wire up for subs and just leave the wire going to the amp unplugged until i get an amp and sub

Definately, just run the wires and wire tie them under the dash, or in the back of the truck or whatever until you get ready to install an amp.

first you need to do some research on how to install a cd player, you will need to purchase a dash kit and a wiring harness adapter, i know circuit city sells 2 harnesses on that plugs into the pioneer and then one that plugs into the stock wiring then they clip together. and you need to learn to solder if your going to just get the one harness and use the stock pioneer harness. use electical tape over the connections. what subs and what amp do u plan on running?
