little (noob) problem

my rcas are from walmart not the best quality i have a better set sitting in my front seat ive just been too lazy to change them out yet but they get the job done.. have gotten the job done for over a year

i bought the wal-mart RCAs, ran them, and there is bass coming from the subwoofers but not nearly what was produced from my other amplifier, I mean i'm scared to turn the gain up any higher so idk what to do

And one more thing, i have no idea if this has anything to do with anything, but when i un-hooked my negative battery terminal before removing my old amp, my capacitor made a loud/long beep noise, and did the same thing when i i disconnected the negative terminal before i worked with the RCAs

Also, the read-out on my capacitor is like at a steady 14.something, i turned the gain kinda high and cranked the volume and there still wasnt nearly as much bass as when i had my old amplifier. Also the LED on my cap would drop down into the high 12's and low 13's when i had my old amp cranked up, what is the problem?
