little amp

I was wondering (may be a really stupid question:))

Can I get a little (maybe 50-60 rmsx2 @4ohms) amp that does not need to be connected to the battery? I would like to get something small and cheap to power my front two speakers, that I could maybe mount under my glove box area.

Maybe even something that does need the 12v from the battery, but could be run on a low gauge wire.

Thanks.

i wouldnt buy that amp that brand is no goodi would keep looking and i dont know of any amp that does not have to be connected to a 12 volt source
I was just dreaming:) I thought that part would be impossible.

What would be so bad about this brand? Will it not make the rated 35watts? lol.

Really I am just trying to get my system together on a budget.

Right now it does not get nearly loud enough.. I am very unhappy with it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

The subs get louder, and sound better when turned up, while the speakers start popping, and tweaking out...

Ummmmmm.....

I stumbled across this little guy. How the hell do you hook this up? How does the harness work? Just looking at that pic, it does not make any sense to me...

BTW please don't say about how much it sucks, and all... I KNOW it's not going to be great, I mean 30$... I just need a little more power, for a low price, and I already have all the cables and stuff I need, so I just want a cheap little upgrade.

That looks similar to the David Navone mini amp I picked up a few months ago. Those 12 or 16 gauge wires are the power/ground/remote/speaker wires. I would say that it's a slight step up from H/U power.

Alright, so do I hook those up, just like a normal amp? It also has nowhere for RCA cables, and what are the 4 holes for?

Alright, thanks for the help so far!

Before buying this I just need to make sure I get it, lol..

I don't see anywhere for the speaker wire on the amp, just the RCA jacks.

How do you use the harness? Does the harness plug into the amp, and you extend the wires from the harness?

Lastly, if you where to chose from these two amps, which would you pick?

nitro

legacy

OR, would you buy a second two channel amp? Isn't it technically the same? Because 4 channel amps need two sets of RCA's. Right?

This thread reminded me of a amp my uncle had in his car, his friend hooked up stereos on the side, so I dont know where he got it from. It was a Radan amp or something like that could not have been any bigger that a small paperback novel (but not as thick, lol).

The amps power and ground wires were the same thickness as its speaker outputs lol, it was suppose to be 25x4 rms, but it just sounded like a really clean HU powering the speakers.

I say invest in the future and buy you a real amp and install it correctly, it will be worth it in the long run.
