line out converter

looking to do an install into one of my buddy's car. just wants a single sub on single amp, but wants to keep stock HU. i know that i will need to get a line out converter, but my question is, how do they work? i understand it provides a way for the RCA's to connect from the amp to the HU, but how? thanks

it won't make much audible difference....get one based on price, simplicity and size for your application

LOC is the best way to do it. you should also buy a quality loc not the cheap crap. Here's a good quality LOC:
