Line out converter vs line driver

I have a 2016 Dodge Dart and I have the base model with the basic radio. I'm install a 2-3k for the sub and a 2-4 ch. amp for my full range. I understand that I need to tap into my speakers to get a signal to my amps. I was hoping to get a better line out converter to keep the distortion down such as the audio control. Now I just came across fosgate live driver which has connections to tap into the speakers. So which one would be better for my needs. If I understand this right a loc not only converts the signal but also gives you the ability to set to boost the rca output...this sounds the same as a driver...please help me understand

The audiocontrols are good devices. Most, if not all, boost line voltage im sure
Ok so I was looking at the lc2i. I should be fine with one of those and just follow the instructions. I believe they have a sub and a full range output. I didn't want to get cheap one because of the high clipping.

Ya the cheapie locs are trash. Lucky to get 1v out of them. The ACs are supposed to supply like 8v out.

The lc2i would allow you 1 sub amp and 1 2ch fullrange

save your money for the rockford DSR-1 if your dodge has the IDATA link Maestro. You'll thank yourself for doing so and will have the best sounding setup in the neighborhood tuned right. Doesnt even matter what speakers you run it works magic with proper use. 250 retail gets you the ability to get 4 pairs of clean RCA outputs, 31 band EQ, A dedicated and rebuilt sub channel, time alignment, active network crossovers and a whole lot of other sh*t. Its mainly for GM cars with the Idata Link Maestro connection.

Audiocontrol is poop for bass if your stock stereo has a built in high pass filter and stock eq curve which is very likely and NO those cannot be turned off its built in the stock stereo. The amount of people that had issues with audiocontrol and other LOCs complaining on this forum is quite a few, dont be one of them and skip the LC2i or whatever Line out convertor you think of. The only ones that could possibly work is kicker sum8 or JL cleansweep, they actually DE-equalize the factory response and rebuild the sub channel properly rather than a blind dirty boost with the audiocontrol junk.

Jl fix is the new one. The clean sweep wasn't any good

The weak link is often not with the LOC but with noisy/poor signal from the source.

Whoever designs factory head units knows it will never reach 90dB and they can afford higher distortion or noise floor and it'll never be noticed going through factory speakers/amps and can skimp a lot in design and parts. Inaudible noise at 90dB becomes very unpleasant at 120.
