Redefining body roll
My 4-ch line level converter has ther normal 'RR-' 'RR+' 'FL-' and so on, but it also has four more slots for (in this order) 'N/C' | 'PGND' | VCC | N/C.

What are those for? I assume the PGND is to ground it. Also, the converter also gives me a remote wire to hook to my amp.

I know I'll probably end up talking to myself on this one, But I've got a humming I can't get rid of now. I have two line-level outs now. The 4-channel (for my active front) and a stinger 2-channel for my sub. When I hook my sub RCAs to the 4-channel LLC, no hum. But when I hook my sub RCA to the other LLC (stinger) it hums. I connected the ground, but it still hums.

Any ideas? Maybe a defective unit?

dayum this is sad sorry cant help you out bro ..just posting on your thread so you wont feel like an @ss...why dont you start with the connections you already noe... and go from there...

that converter is a piece of crap, But i can tell you this if you still connecting normal speakers and converting the same output, theres your hum, you can't do that, if the converter is working, heres what you do i've done this a thousand times and it works great!

take your front left speaker wire and rear left speaker wire, connect the positive of the rear to the negative of the front, then take the remaining positive and negative and connect them to your front left output from your reciever.

next do the same for the right front and right rear and connect them to your right front out.

now connect your left rear out and right rear out to the converter in the specified areas. now rca output to your sub amp. CLEAN as a baby's butt. make sure to crank the gains on the converter wide open, you'll still only see 1-2 preamp volts. now your fader on the radio is also a sub amp remote?! turn it to the front and you amp slowly shuts off, turn it to the rear and your high speakers will quieten while your subs get louder. I know I'm the man. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

That's kind of what I'm doing. I'm using the rear channel as my sub channel. That way I can use the rear gain knob on my shock head unit as a sub woofer gain knob.

I'll probably continue to post in this thread, in case someone searching has the same problem.
