Line Converter/Active X-Over Question (Please Help)

If you want to, yes you can do that. You would just split the lines to feed all your outputs/channels. You will lose the fading ability at the H/U. If you still want to be able to fade from front to rear with the H/U then you will need to tap the front speaker outputs from the H/U.
Also you will have to run new speakers lines from the amplifier to your front speakers, or figure out how to speaker wires from the amplifier to the factory wires under the dash or door. So your still going to have to run wires up front.

Please power your front speakers off the amp.

Anyone who runs front speakers off the H/U amp should be donkey punched.

I guess I need to disconnect my factory tweeters as well

Im going to be adding aftermarket tweeters and mids on the doors

I wont be using my rear speakers....so I can tap those live speaker wires to the LOC and it will be converted into 6 channels of sound?

ok...here is what Im gonna do:

the 4 channels OUT from the LOC (LC6) will hook up to the x-over (front/rear)

the sub OUT will directly hook up to the amp's sub IN. Bypassing the x-over (amp's xover used instead)

My question is......would I get the same results with a cheap 2 or 4 channel LOC as I would with my 6 channel LC6?. Im thinking about wiring it from my rear speaker connections.

I had two one installed in my car and one went in my friends. I'm not sure which one is in mine because i wrapped it up pretty good but the other was "ScorpionX" some generic brand.

Both were basic two channel.

Yes that would work.

Just to clarify: Does your HU have a sub out? If not then you won't have a sub in for the LOC. You will be generating the sub from the x-over.

Most cheap LOC's work fine (try Darvex.com), but I wouldn't skimp too much. I think you should consider finding an amp that has speaker level inputs and built in x-over. You might get more bang for your buck, and much simpler to set up, by combining your budget into a single piece, rather than seperate LOC, x-over and amp.

You might find a 5 channel with those features, but certainly a 4 channel and a sub amp with those features.

My h/u doesnt have sub out

Another question (most likely my last lol)......how exactly do I hook up my rear speaker wires to the LC6? I have done this before with a simple 2-channel LOC. Is is done the same way (two speaker wires in)?
