lightweight subwoofer help me find one.

i had a 12" bose shallow sub mounted on the hatch cover( 99 integra 2 door)

it was about 3lb if not less.

did sound ok for beeing a bose and it was at 1.5 ohm so didnt need much to power it i used a bazookatube amp to power it.

got rid of that thing.

now i need something to cover the hole in my hatch so im looking for another light sub to mount there.

i would like to find a sub that weighs LESS than 5lb and has around 100W RMS.

since i will be using the xtant 1.1 amp to power it.

RE makes some shallow subs, so does JL. Hell, i think a lot of manufacturers make shallow subs now.

Sorry dude, I don't think a subwoofer is going to come less than 3 lbs in a 12inch variation unless you custom build a small driver to a large cone. Shallow subs seem to fit your description of a small space but are from what you say, too heavy for your hatch. Either consider bracing the hatch with a simple wooden frame or removing the hatch and replacing with a custom hatch-like enclosure.

im not trying to blow my windows out lol

i got myself a pretty decent door speakers and use the rear speakers for midbass but im just missing that soft low bass

thats not a sub brah, its called a passive radiator

That is not a passive radiator. That is a shallow mount 25 or 50 watt sub. Passive radiators do not have tinsel leads

I agree with vanman. If you are worried about the hatch breaking you could brace the hatch with mdf and glue, use a nice amt of fiberglass to help sturdy the structure, or build something in place of that hatch. You may be able to find some lightweight equipment on partexpress, but other than that you are asking a lot in the world of after market audio.

well the whole point of this is to keep it stock looking as possible.

besides headunit theres really nothing visible aftermarket in my car its all hidden and tucked in.

a brace would definitely not look OEM.

i guess i could build a spare tire box instead. but im too lazy, and i dont wrk at the stereo shop no more.
