lights flickering after HO install

i dont know if ur fvcked but i can tell you this....i bought it with 53K on the clock and it didnt have this issue in the beginning...it was something that definitely came into play 30-40K miles later (in the beginning my system didnt have any issues, played properly like it was getting the right voltage) and got worse with time....i heard some people say the same thing...maybe the voltage regulator but i cant remember if its external or built into the alternator...hopefully it is external and easily replaceable

After the overall experience with my blazer...i swore off GM and i was never going to buy another one....i've been driving a tahoe for the last 4 months now.....luckily no electrical issues yet but definite issues with drivetrain...Fvck my life! heh

found out the problem. i told mechman about the situation and he told me since i mounted the regulator in the trunk, i need a thicker wire than the standard 16guage for my regulator. So if i upgrade the size of the wire, i should be fine. I tested his theory by bringing the regulator to the front of the car with shorter length of wires, and sure enough, no flickering !

he told me 8G was required... now the other problem... how the hell am i gonna have three runs of 8G on one side of the vehicle !!

is the blazer's voltage reg. in the trunk/cargo area from factory? either way, glad to hear you found the answer before you put in your system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

it's an external regulator that came with the HO. I can't find anywhere to put this big regulator under the hood. It says its designed to be mounted on the firewall, but there is zero room....

figured it out. Put the HO alt underneath the battery tray under the hood. I removed the battery, then removed the tray, and what do you know... tons of space down there.... so i mounted it there, put the the battery tray back in, and installed the battery.

thanks for suggestions boys !
