Lcd vs plasma.. What one to buy and why??

But I don't have time to dick around about this. Plasma are great, no doubt but we are at the point where the top-of-the line LCD's have surpassed the plasmas, and will continue to.
As was said, refresh rate isn't the cause of motion blur, pixel response time is, and that improves on LCD's ever day. However, A 3D-Source REQUIRES a minimum 120hz. And the plasma can't deliver it. However, get a 240hz LCD and it's **** close to watching a HD source in normal 2D quality, flicker almost disappears.

lets not forget some games that can reach very high refresh rates.
First off, 3D will fail

Second, plasma can "deliver it"

Third, I had a 240hz LCD, and it was garbage.

Fourth, games are 60hz or less.

A 60Hz signal flashed in 10 subfields.... sort of like a 60Hz input signal flashed 2-4x on your LCD to come up with 120Hz or 240Hz respectively????
I guess you can explain, then, why a 3D plasma television took top honors at last week's CES? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Why not try hooking up that 3D source to your current 240Hz LCD? Think it's going to work properly? NO! Because they're not designed for 3D, moron.

And yes, a 2ms delay in pixel change can most certainly be noticed by the human eye when it is spread across hundreds to thousands of pixels as an object moves across a screen and each pixel lags behind its neighbors.

You are honestly going to sit here and tell me that there is no motion blur with LCDs???? Not noticeable at all? Go ahead... say it.
No most of this is wrong, and mostly cause you misunderstood me or don't know what i'm talking about, unfortunately i don't have the time to discuss it now, bye!

So then explain why the 3D plasma at CES with a 96Hz refresh rate took top honors over all its' competitors, including LCDs?

Maybe you know more than current electronics-giant corporation Panasonic who unveiled a working 152-inch HD 3D plasma at CES?

Seriously, man... the more you talk, the less sense you make...

im just gonna bold the whole thing as a complete fail.. your really starting to confuse fps and refresh rates into the mix.. Just shut up already, and no for the "cinema" look and over all PQ even the new LEDs dont compare.. get a clue then come back later

LCD for sure, ust better for general viewing no screen burns, good viewing angle, just better
Wow.... you also have bought the hype but haven't done the research...

Plasma has better picture quality

Plasma burn-in is a non-issue these days

Viewing angles on plasma are MUCH better than LCD or LED-backlit LCD

Overall.... well, I think that sums it up. lol

Funny... every point you mentioned was wrong!

I have seen no burn in or IR. I can stand 89* from my plasma and still see accurate colors. They are also cheaper when you get to larger sizes. I dont understand how you came to your conclusions..

your opinion, no, not an issue anymore, no, aaaaaaaaand no.. thanks for the input //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

They should go work at BB, I love when those people try to tell me LED TVs are not LCD. I love it!

OLED will be amazing when its finally here. A 60" Tv I can roll up like a poster. Contrast and black levels rivaling that of CRT's. For now, Plasmas are still closer;)

a 60" oled is gonna cost as much as the 24x36 garage i just built lol, ill take a plasma ..

Do you know what they discontinued the KURO? Smart move Pioneer, take the best plasma on the market and quit making it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Yeah but one day, maybe 3 years Id guess, OLED will be dominant.

I was looking to get the 151FD Kuro, but they are going for over 5k now. I would love to have one, but I still feel the top Panny plasmas are nearly as good, and its not really worth nearly double the price to own a Kuro.
