Lcd vs plasma.. What one to buy and why??

fuck it im gonna sell my LCD and get a plasma for CHEAPER //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif

Plasma's use way more power, they have glassy screens so reflections are an issue, and based on market trends, plasmas are on their way out. LG stopped making them, Samsung only makes 1 now, and Sony stopped making them. Panasonic is going to ride that train until it crashes but IMO plasma is *so 2008*.

I have a Samsung LN52B750 and the pq is outstanding. I get amazed at the pq everyday i watch it, and i had it for a month and a half. I was looking for a tv and looked at Plasmas and LCD's and i choose it for 2 reasons. 1. price was what i wanted to spend($1500.00 cdn) and i got a great deal on it and 2. wanted bigger than a 50 inch and couldn't get the plasma i wanted for the money i had. Blacks are amazing on this set. If i could afford the plasma i wanted(Pioneer Kuro), i would have chose it over any lcd out.

yea thats basically the same set i have, and calibrated there is no difference in PQ, itsjust asthetics,,, But you could have easily got a samsung PN58B650 plasma for about $1700 canadian around Xmas time.. That is the only set i will say after calibration looks better than mine ( within pricerange ) I alwasy get compliments on how amazing the PQ looks, especially blu rays

Basically, plasma is defeated. the technology has been surpassed.

However it will likely never phase out completely. People still have CRT's lol.

Point is that a lot of people still have a lot of money invested in plasma and they aren't gonna say, "oh well, plasma is shit, LCD is better." Fact is, if they can still make you people believe they are just as good through clever marketing, and set the price point lower, they will still buy them.

Haha i didn't even mention power consumption, The've almost Banned Plasmas in California. A plasma TV can max out a wall outlet. while a LCD can use less power than some light bulbs.

Finally, With the TRUE-LED technology, contrast ratios on the LCD's are approaching plasma and better in some models.

Here's what i would buy with 2k. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gifhttp://www.vizio.com/vf551xvt.html

Say one at walmart for $1800.00

1080p

240hz.

5ms pixel response (eh, but not terrible)

2,000,000:1 Contrast ratio.

It has a built-in Wi-fi and bluetooth adapter.

I like it

Bang for the buck is not equal to quality. The fact that it's cheaper isn't good, it tells you they wouldn't sell if the price was higher.

In truth bang for the buck has little real meaning when you compare such apples and oranges. If the difference in the two doesn't affect you then i'm sure plasma is a better decision.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif the newest plasma best buy had today had Burn-in images on it.
