Lcd vs plasma.. What one to buy and why??

Basically, plasma is defeated. the technology has been surpassed.
However it will likely never phase out completely. People still have CRT's lol.

Point is that a lot of people still have a lot of money invested in plasma and they aren't gonna say, "oh well, plasma is shit, LCD is better." Fact is, if they can still make you people believe they are just as good through clever marketing, and set the price point lower, they will still buy them.

Haha i didn't even mention power consumption, The've almost Banned Plasmas in California. A plasma TV can max out a wall outlet. while a LCD can use less power than some light bulbs.

Finally, With the TRUE-LED technology, contrast ratios on the LCD's are approaching plasma and better in some models.

Here's what i would buy with 2k. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gifhttp://www.vizio.com/vf551xvt.html

Say one at walmart for $1800.00

1080p

240hz.

5ms pixel response (eh, but not terrible)

2,000,000:1 Contrast ratio.

It has a built-in Wi-fi and bluetooth adapter.

I like it

eh" ?? for a tv now days , that is terrible

Eh it's not the best but not terrible. The best are around 2ms. and a more common high-end LCD has 4ms. Couple the 5ms pixel response with the processing advantages of the 240hz refresh rate and its not so bad. (keep in mind i'm not saying refresh rate has anything to do with juddering, but I am saying that the 240hz eliminates major sources of juddering such as the 4/5 frame rate interpolation associated with 24 fps sources and motion blur is VERRY VERY hard to discern on it.

So, in other words, 5ms in one TV doesn't equal 5ms in another. Its how the system as a whole works.

It's like a sound system. You can't say that system x > system y merely because system x has a sub with higher efficiency.

For example, 60hz on a plasma is usually perfectly adequate on a plasma compared to (IMO) a NECESSARY 120hz minimum on an LCD for the same performance. The systems are simply different.

Panny 42-50" 720p plasma gets my vote, unless you're going to also use it as a PC monitor. In that case, 1080p actually makes sense.
720p for anything bigger than a 40" is stupid.. Buying a new flatscreen below 50" in general is near brain dead, AND 720P for blu ray puts the icing on the cake that you are a nub, and your entire post was a successful fail

No, you fail.

Your opinions, and not good ones either.

lmao, no they are facts.. prove me wrong as to how 1080p does NOT benefit on a larger screen?? Your an ignorant feggot , you know that?
Wow, really? Obviously 1080p > 720p. Thats not what I am saying shitstick. Who would have guessed that spending more on a tv would provide a better picture? 720p would still look fine on a tv over 40". And "buying a new flatscreen under 50" in general is near brain dead? Different people buy tvs for different applications. Not everybody has room for a huge tv. What works for you doesn't work for everyone. But then again, you are the tv expert, right?

Its not worth buying a tv under 50".

You are just throwing out opinions and I hope nobody that has a mind of their own takes any of that jibberish seriously.

lol, for the price you consider a 26, 32 or 37 inch flatscreen costs getting a 40, 42, 46, is your better deal.. the deals on 40" + sets are HUGE compared to under 40", that IS a fact.. 720 is outdated , so why buy a small outdated set, ?? Buy a 1080p 40" or above, unless you HAVE to have is small for some reason then it is what it is.. So tell me again how i fail?? Dumbasses like you convince ppl to get shit that isnt going to keep them happy for long.. You want to talk viewing distances for sets?? lol if you have a 40" set, u better be closer than 6 feet to it lol

Again, all your opinions. Some people don't want a gigantic tv and some people don't have room for one. Thats a fact. And its true, 720p is outdated compared to 1080p but that does not make it obsolete. Thats like saying if you still buy dvds, then you are a moron.

....poast

Every TV I've seen with that fucking interpolation turned on looks like shit. Just absolute, fake, shit.
in a nutshell, this.. And to cotjones, who praises the 240 hz processing , you do realize your eys cant even differ anything above a 120 hz refresh rate right?
