Laptop questions

I have a Hp dv9000 and was wondering a few things...

1) When i close the laptop when its still on ( so my kitten doesnt pounce all over it ) it goes to a blank screen when i open it again, and no matter what i hit it wont bring up the screen after its been closed.. I ve tried hittting , space bar , enter , esc, just wondering if theres something i missed

2) If that doesnt work is there a key lock foar all keys so when she walks across it i dont have 18 browsers...

ps and no a solutions is not going to be to get rid of the cat

when i close it and open it, it turns on by itself.

it should go into hibernation . push the power button

i tried the power button for 1 sec, 5 sec and then 10 basically shuts it down, nothing

Adjust power options, advanced tab. That is in control panel. Try setting it to do nothing when you close the lid. See if that helps any.

go to power properties and make sure u got hibernation enabled.

Hold down the shift key for 8 seconds to activate FilterKeys
