LADES Street MAX 3-4 Build Log

good lord that's a thick front panel.

I don't know much about competition vehicles, is there a reason you didn't extend the box back further into the van? The amps and batteries wouldn't take up that much room would they?

i decided to go thta far back becaues the gas tank comes up there on the driver side and i was gonna curve that corner of the box out the port so thats as far back as i went or else i owuld have had a hump in the side of the box going out the port. its hard to explain. ill take a pic and show u sometime. but this will put me around 34 cube box for 3 18's. i need to remeasure it all and figure out how long of port i really need. i may add another 2 sheets of MDF to the front baffel.

today i decided to get 2 more sheets of mdf and cut the holes for the baffle... all 33! holes. i went through 2 router bits... one just snapped so i had to go and buy another with only 2 sheets to go //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif o well it happens.

i dont think there is a sub on this earth that need a baffel that thick lol
you are right but i im using the idea my buddy used a few years ago when he competed. running 5 RE XXX 15s. called infinite baffle. use the baffle as your port length.

I could be wrong but i believe IB is when your using a large area as part of the box (like the trunk of a car) and the box size is at least 4x vas of the driver and generally its more like 10.

Thats not infinite baffle, thats just a thick ass front baffle. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What you should have done, IMO, is start with a few layers, say 4 or 5. Test that, then add a layer, test that, then add a layer, etc.

This way you know whats hurting and what is helping. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
