Knu Battery Terminals

I will vouch for knukonceptz . I wrote them an email about how there wire quanity worked kinda a newb question i wanted to make sure though before ordering and i was sent an email back the same night. I have had no problem's at all with there customer service //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I'm using them on my under hood yellow top no problem.

I've had mine for a few years and they've been on atleast 4 batteries, on and off several times... When I install mine I beat them on with a rubber mallet, then torque them down.

Solid as a rock son.

My god, some of the posts in this thread are just simply retarded... The company is trying to make this right and is using your input to address the situation and you continue to bash... That is just pain stupid. With any company, you may have to give them more than a day to get back to your emails.

I have had one problem with a Knu product, the input Kompression piece had bad threads on it, I shot them an email and recieved a new one as quickly as they could send it.

Also they are one of the few companies that will ship to US military guys overseas without a additional cost of "taking it to the post office" which for some companies is even too dificult to do.

knukonceptz, I think a good idea would to make shims available on request as well as a warning about the possible problems with Optima and similar styled batteries, it can only help.

On a second note, I have been running Optimas for about 8 years now and they DO have smaller terminals. I have have had the same problems with other battery terminal companies and because of that I have found a generic brand terminal localy that works without the problem. (still have to tap it down to seat them)

Knu

okay first of all i cant find those terminals anywhere. What you just said makes me think that because the price was so little you just dont give a shit. I want my ****ing terminals because i cant hook it up correctly the way i want to do it without them. Have a nice day though!
You need to chill the **** out and read. They are trying to help you.

I agree if there are any chance for this problem to presist, which it looks like there are a few with the problem, I would just include them with ALL of these models packaging.Wheather you need them or not it is a small bit that would solve any negative feedback in the future with this problem.

I did provide a solution, in fact I said "What you can do to address the issue" - my response was honest and upfront. That style terminal has literally been a KnuKonceptz product since day 1. We've changed only the screw finish in 7 years and every year we sell a lot of that model. Out of the number sold we hear about a problem maybe 8 times in a year on that model.
Now I understand your issue, if you'd like to take a digital caliper to your optima's post we can see what might be the cause. As i said in my email, looking at a logical stand point getting one defect, I could see, but the chances of two that come from different cases in our factory makes the odds very steep. If more people are truly having issues, I'd like to know. If we need to get shims for Optima's thats something to consider. As I mentioned, it is very rare to hear about an issue with that model. If Optima is making terminals with smaller posts then everyone else, that would really be something for everyone to know about...

And you never replied back to my resonse- again I can not resolve anything with out communication. PLEASE if you have a problem, contact us!
i'll email you back now

Some one with an optima that has the problem, get a very accurate measurement and we'll do some investigating. Retooling the terminal same is unlikely - that is several thousands of dollars just for the new tool.

Indeed, I used a total of four of these terminals in an install and they all fit with no issues. Actually I've shipped a few hundred dollars of Knu gear to Sweden for one of my customers on top of their amp order -- so in general, it's pretty good stuff.

Mileage varies, but Knu does quite a bit of business -- a problem is going to pop up eventually, but they are trying to make things right, thats all one can do as a business owner.

set screws can only be so tight. Take into consideration the vibrations inside a car and the terminal will eventually get loose. Not to mention the fact that you are putting a set screw on a rounded point only compounds the difficulty to tighten. For all having issues, just use a different style terminal. Clamps with the screw/nut adjacent to the terminal come to mind. I love knu products, but in buying terminals I had to keep all that in mind
