I have 4 12" L7's I paid 880 for new, I got 2 at a time, they are ok, wish i did something a little better, 2 solo x or type x, mojo or dub7's. I haven't personally messed with any of the "underground" subs but everyone here rants and raves about them.

I don't have the dimensions on hand but knave the whole bed of my escalade (basically an avalanche) and I'd like to keep the amp around 650 if possible. I still have a lot of other stuff to but so id like to save anywhere I can.

I had 2 solo-xs in my last avalanche run by a single kx2500 and it was pretty loud but I want something a little louder now and something that sounds decent, the solo-xs didn't have the sq I want.

I personally would go for mojos. They can take a LOT of abuse and can do way more than their rated power. Plus Field replicable voice coils:naughty:

U say u had x's and didn't like the sq, but you ask if u should run L7's? U should know u won't like the sound

Maybe it was my box or something but I have one l7 in my winter beater and a lot of my friends have them and I know they are similar design but it seems like the l7s sound better just don't get as loud.

The solo X has better SQ than the L7 when done properly. Don't expect to get louder on similar cone area...

i still think your best bet would be 4 sa-15s in a blow through on an aq3500 whcih can be picked up for around 550.

get the exact measurements for the space and hit up ram_designs for a design or Pro rabbit for a built box shipped to your door.

Sold the x's a while back. I intended to get another amp for them but sold the truck before I got around to it.
