I never said adaptation was impossible. Adaptation happens. Creatures will adapt to their surroundings over time, it's a fact.jmanpc, you think evolution can't be observed? How do you account for the way diseases and viruses adapt over time? The simple fact of matter is that diseases and viruses show evolution in its simplest form.
Virus A and Virus B are the exact same virus but Virus B is slightly different and there are a lot less of them. Humans make an antivirus for Virus A and wipe it out but Virus B continues to live on. Now Virus B is alive, it is the dominant one, and passing its genetic traits down. Along the way, another genetic defect occurs and produces Virus C. Humans produces antivirus for virus B but not virus C because it is recessive and not known of yet. And the cycle continues... Does this sound familar at all?
In evolutionary terms, that's microevolution. It is witnessed on a daily basis. I have no problem with that at all. But what I do have a problem with is macroevolution... the belief that dinosaurs turned into birds, that cows turned into whales, that monkies turned into humans, etc etc..
Scientists go and say "well that there cockroach is immune to Pesticide X, and his parents weren't, therefore he evolved." That cockroach is still a cockroach. Just because it is immune to a pesticide doesn't mean it's turning into a tank. Charles Darwin witnessed birds with beaks that were adapted to their environments. Well I have news- they're still finches. How does that show they came from a dinosaur?
Furthermore, Natural Selection is like quality control. It finds the weak links in a species and eliminates them, thus weeding out the inferior genes. Well, lets imagine we're at a car factory, and at the end of the line, there's quality control that keeps lemons from being released. They kick the tires, inspect the upholstrey, rev the engine, slam on the brakes, etc. Well how long until it turns that line of cars into airplanes? That won't happen. It simply keeps the cars with problems from passing on to the consumer. Natural selection doesn't create... it does what the name says... it selects.
