I can't accept evolution as a scientific fact (that's what they believe it is) because it is based on poor logic and bad science. Evolution is not testable, demonstratable, or observable in the lab. You'd be surprised. A few weeks ago, it said that evolution is a fact on Wikipedia. They recently took it down. I think anyone who thinks of evolution as anything more than a theory should be kicked in the nuts.

Apparently those charged with the duties of providing quality education to the kiddies in Kansas have completely lost sight of what it is that their job actually entails.

Whatever happened to teaching English? And all the various forms of math? And history?

Freggin' POKEMON?!?!? C'mon, ladies and gentlemen ~ I am of the firm belief that there simply HAS to be something better that the Kansas State Board of Education could be doing with their time rather than spending week after week debating on whether or not it is appropriate to ban POKEMON from their schools?

No wonder my mom kept a chronic headache once she started working for a textbook publisher and had to try and make people just like this understand what it actually means to "educate" our children rather than indoctrinate them into some warped belief system...

The fact that these people would even focus on such a topic is beyond moronic or asinine.

First of all, its a fucking cartoon/game. They insinuate that their kids are too fucking dumb to understand the difference between reality and fantasy. Perhaps a reflection of themselves?

Second of all, there is this thing called freedom of religion. Teaching under the assumption that God created all of us is the same as forcing the religion on you. Seeing as how evolution holds just as much crediability as religion, there is no reason not to teach it. You are suppose to go to school to learn, not be fed bullshit.

jmanpc, you think evolution can't be observed? How do you account for the way diseases and viruses adapt over time? The simple fact of matter is that diseases and viruses show evolution in its simplest form.

Virus A and Virus B are the exact same virus but Virus B is slightly different and there are a lot less of them. Humans make an antivirus for Virus A and wipe it out but Virus B continues to live on. Now Virus B is alive, it is the dominant one, and passing its genetic traits down. Along the way, another genetic defect occurs and produces Virus C. Humans produces antivirus for virus B but not virus C because it is recessive and not known of yet. And the cycle continues... Does this sound familar at all?
