Lol sorry for being a newbie but I need some help.

I had a sub (12" Mach 5 sub from 6ish years ago) and an amp (AudioQue 1200 I think, also purchased 6ish years ago) in my old Hyundai.

Well, I just bought a 2008 Cadillac CTS4 last month and figured why not take my old system and install it. The guy before me already had his sub in there and the wiring was already done.

So I installed it just now, blue positive 4guage power into the port on the amp, negative 4guage power into the ground port on the amp, and the tiny wire into the REM (remote on/off) port

Then I plugged the RCA cables in. Now here's one thing I just realized. I wasn't sure which RCA cables were left and right so I just guessed.

Anyway, I was just sitting there admiring the looks and the sub randomly hit (just once) and I was like wtf is that? Am I seeing things? All is fine, it stopped, I turned the car on and it sounds good.

Turn the car off. Randomly looking at my paint job a minute later with the door open and it hits again. The car was fully off.

Any idea wtf is going on?

Check your rca's, I once had a cheaper set that fit rather loose and it would cause the sub to 'rumble' periodically. Make sure they are tight, the ones I have now are split so I widened the gap a tad. Hope you can get it solved as easily as I was able too.

is it like a pulse type thing?? every couple seconds

No rhythm to it. It happened once, didn't happen again for 5+ minutes, just randomly. 4 times in the span of about the 30 minutes I was out there after it was installed

They didn't seem loose, seemed like they fit fine. Could it be an issue that I had the right side in the left port and all that?

Also, why would it make it do that after the car is off?

That's scary. What are the chances it's this?
The battery is in the back, I have no idea how I'd find this.

Did I do the smart/right thing by disconnecting the amp/sub?
Just trace down the wire to where it's grounded at. Take it to the battery direct yes you did good by unhooking the amp until you can track down the issue

The ground wire that plugs into the amp you mean? There can't be an issue I wouldn't think. It's coated in rubber all the way to the battery terminal. It's installed INSIDE the car upholstry so I can't see it but that shouldn't be the issue I wouldn't think (I'm a newbie though)

Then again, I did see that from the negative terminal on the battery, there's like a mini fuse box that is right at the start of the big 4 guage ground wire. The plastic top did come a little loose

Are you using an LOC with remote out?

What's an LOC?

For the remote power, it's just a skinny grey wire. Actually here, I took a pic of the wires once they were in

I do really need some help with this. I'd love to set it up but can't figure it out.

Like I asked earlier, could having the RCA cables in the wrong spots (left/right) do this??
