Just installed my Pioneer 880PRS

Just tryin to get a hold on if i know my head unit right & sorry to thread jack, but when you put it in networking mode, your rca's are then converted to highs, mids, & lows (sub) right?

Just got it last week & between school & work, having a hell of a time finding time to learn more about the unit.

you just lost me, if anything, give me your aim so once i install everything, you can guide me step by step lol

Not that hard to grasp. He's basically just saying with active, you can blend everything better.

It's been between the 880prs and the 9887 for me, still think I'm going to go the alpine route though. That 880 looks nice installed, but I still don't like how the faceplate feels on any of the pioneers.

I rarely use the faceplate at all, the remote is all i ever need to touch.

BTW are your lights white in the original pictures or is that just the camera?

Mine are blue btw, haven't looked into the visual stuff yet, just trying to get the audio down.

yeah, thats the only thing i dont like, is the shit feels loose. but i think i am going to put some spaces or something to make it more solid.

I have the lights set to white, because blue isnt really my thing, i would have killed to havea red option, but you cant get everything you want lol.

Why do you have your sub play higher than your midbass? Not knocking you, just never seen anyone do that.
Because the XXX sucked at anything about 60-65 hz. It's not that there wasn't any output, but that compared to say 30-40 it was a HUGE difference. Since the output on it above 65hz was so poor comparatively, it actually added a bit to the midbass.

Before I had the XXX installed, my mids were actually crossed at 50hz, because they could easily play that w/o sweating it, but I just bumped them up to 63, to make it a bit easier on them, the 2.2hv still puts out quite a bit of power @ 8ohms stereo.

The pioneer face feel SUCKS compared to the Alpine, hands down alpine wins, even over eclipse and other companies too.

Wow I don't know much about my head unit, lol.
I'm gonna go set them to white, like it better than the blue.

Any more info on using network mode over the standard, please chime in!
Network mode is used to run an active setup. Each spaeker has its own amplification IE Sub/Mid L/Mid R/Tweet L/Tweet R. So a minimum of 5 channels of amplification. Then you can loose all the passive crossovers you may have in your system and use all of the tuning tools of the head unit to get it setup properly.

So basically you use the headunit for the crossovers, and just the gains on the amp when your running an active setup?

I see...problematic of all xbl² motors IIRC.

How do you change the lights from blue to white? (I assume you mean the lights around the perimeter of the face, not the display itself.

Is there an off?

uh you can change the knob lighting and to white or blue, you need to turn off the radio, and hold the multi scroll button. then you will get language and all those other settings, just look for illumination and once you get there, press the multi scroll button and it will change from blue to white.
