okay back on topic, so when i get my comps and run them active, what would be a good setting? when i go into the audio, there are so many things, like the slopes, and shit i dont even know nothing about lol.

u surprised?
No can't say that I am... but it started off so well.

Depends on the drivers and what the ts specs are. If you really know nothing about it, take it to someone who does.

As well as the slope.

Some manufactures use a higher cutoff with a lower slope. My tweets originally were ran on a 3000hz x with 12 db slope, I am using them with 2000hz x and 24db slope. No ill effects, and brings my sound stage up a bit, then I run a gap between them and my mids to avoid getting a peak at the 1.5k - 2k hz range. 1600 with a 24db slope hp.

yeah might have to meet up with a local guy that has the same headunit, mlstrass, i will be visiting you again really soon lol

I started with manufacturer's settings and then deviated from there.
You can cross the tweeter lower, but you need to be very very very very very careful about power when you do.
Well i know i am getting the DLS MS6A comps, and they will be powered by the Nine.5 (5 channel amp). The amp puts out 100x4 @ 4ohm to each channel, and it has a lot of settings for running active. Sh1t now i am getting scared on running active lol

I have had two people back up this claim:

The settings on your HU are better than the crossover settings on your amp. You are welcome to try, but two people backed me up on this. I turned all the settings on my 4 channel off and use the HU for everything and it sounded much better.

Very nice Hu for the price went down in price over here actually which i was very suprised by. wish i had the cash:(.
yeah, i am so happy that i got this headunit for a steal, i am so happy with this headunit.

oh okay, so if i run the comps active from the headunit, then i need to turn off the crossovers on the amp, and if want to run the comps active from the amp, then i need to turn off the crossover on the headunit and tweak the amps crossovers?

or can i play with both?

I agree whole heartedly. There is absolutely no point in buying a hu with active capabilities if you purchase an amp that has them built in. It is also 10x better to use the HU's capabilities over the amps, until you get into the higher end amps who have accurate and quality crossovers built in.... even then many of those amps have no processing/crossovers just straight power. Also a HU will be MUCH more flexible than most amps that have active capabilities.
