Just installed my Pioneer 880PRS

Also remember that when you use crossovers on the amp and the HU you are changing the actual frequency that its being crossed at and/or the slope at which it is crossed.

got it, and only reason i am getting the Nine.5 is because i just want one solid amp, and the Nine.5 puts out 450 RMS for the sub, but i plan on using the headunits crossovers, because i want the cleanest sound possible, and thats the only reason why i bought that headunit.

But check out the specs on the Nine.5, it might be a great amp?

3 Level Inputs Individual inputs for 3 channels are integrated into the NINe.5 amplifier. 2 front channels and the independent subwoofer channel.

0Awg Capable Such a beast of amplifier requires a beast of a connection. The NINe.5 amplifier comes out of the box ready to fit wire as large as 0/1 eNETIC cable.

Adaptive Input The NINe.5 input section allows you to use inputs from 1 channel or 3 channels selectable externally right on the amplifier.

HP/LP/BP Crossovers Included The NINe.5 features a unique crossover to it's design. Full Low Pass / High Pass / Bandpass capability on all 4 front channels @ a 18dB slope. Ranging from 50Hz to 4KHz it gives you a fantastic range of control for the most demanding systems

2 Stage Protection Circuit The NINe.5 protection circuit design is unique in it’s integration isolating the front and rear channels independently from one another. If your driving one part of the amplifier too hard it’s active communication system protects the entire amplifier. The front 4 channels and 5th subwoofer channel are independently protected.

Dedicated Subwoofer Channel Crossover The subwoofer crossover section ranges from 40Hz - 100hz @ 18dB w/ very simple toggle On/Off switch allowing you to use the onboard crossover or digital X/O from your head unit.

Easy Connections The NINe.5 features very simple connections on all channels. Fully housed connections protect one another while increasing speed and reliability of installation.

No me gusta eD.
I would have found a nice belle.

Nice HU man. Install looks great. Hopefully at some point I'll be able to get one.
thanks man, installing was so easy, i used y adapters for the harnesses, so a nice clean install, and i routed my ipod adapter so its hidden. i didnt know how easy things are, and i cant wait to install everything, like my comps and 5 channel amp. so yeah.

I would have went for teh 5.1...but "if I only knew then what I know now"
trust me i know, when i first got my system, i went to a local shop to get everything installed. paid 400 for the labor and a kicker 0 gauge dual amp kit. well turns out they did a 50 dollar job, and just used kicker wire, but cheap *** fuses and distro blocks. also they hacked up everything and didnt route shit right. so yeah, now i do everything audio on my car, cause its so friggin easy.

if i can go back, i would done everything my self and been 400 bucks richer lol.

He's talking about the animation that shows your charging system's voltage in numerical value(rather large), with a semi-circle bar(visual for the voltage) arched above it.
He was actually asking about both, but thanks.

When you do run it active, first, make sure the HU is in networking mode. There's a toggle switch on the side of the unit that you can swap between networking and standard.

When you're trying to setup x-over points, for the tweeter, double the FS and that usually considered to be the absolute LOWEST point you should cross at. The mids then should be around that point well, you can leave a gap between them, but you don't want it to be too large.

Mid HPF is subjective, can your front stage play cleanly down to 50hz, 63hz? I think I have mine at 63hz @ 18db/oct, and the sub is at like 80hz @36db/oct.

^ I've tried that in the past, sometimes the sub, depending on what it is, will bolster up your midbass if your mids aren't very authoratative down low.
