Just installed my Pioneer 880PRS

And boy am i happy, its an awesome unit, so many features its insane. Install was a breeze, i also connect my ipod adapter as well. I used y adapters to the harness, and zip tied it for a clean install. i didnt connect any RCA's just because i have no amps, and so forth. But yeah, i kind of have expierence with this unit, since i do have a 590IB. But i know i have more to tap into. Just wanted to say i am one happy customer, all though i prefer red lights to match my interior, the performance is enough to hold me over.

One thing i am concerned about, is that when i choose the animations, i can get voltage and shit like that. But when i choose the level animation, its maxed out, is that normal, the volume is at 30. Not even all the way, and it looks like its putting out too much power lol, not sure if thats just an animation. Also the voltage shows 14's lol.

It's the voltage of your charging system, not the RCA's....so 14 is a good thing.

When you say level you mean the left and right analog style needle thingies right? If so, they're like that one mine too so don't worry about it.

He's talking about the animation that shows your charging system's voltage in numerical value(rather large), with a semi-circle bar(visual for the voltage) arched above it.

why do the animations switch to negative sometimes? like what was black is now white and vice versa. I found a way to disable it but then when i disconnected the battery to do some work its back again.

There's an option in the function menu for reverse mode, turn that off, the reverse won't happen anymore.

Juan....congrats on the new HU. My voltage only shows 12.2, so I know the meter isn't accurate as the DMM shows 14.51 at the batt. And my level meters are pegged at like 1/4 volume, so I think it's more of a gimmick than anything...

yeah thats what i thought too, i just dont want to overstrain the headunit, i love this headunit, yesterday we went out to eat, and i couldnt stop staring the the face in the case. uploading pics at moment.

i wish they had red buttons like the Alpine 9887, but i love pioneer, and i dont think i will ever buy another headunit again............unless its a new 880PRS lol
