Just got my new SX18, need to check the OHM load..

Okay so I just got my SX18 in (bought it used).. it is supposed to be dual .7ohm..

i hook up my DMM to it one of the DVCs.. and it reads .2 (on 200).. and than it reads 1 (on 2000)... the DMM is set to read impedance but I don't know how to determine what each of those reading signals...cause I'd like to know before I go hooking it up and wanging on it and blow my amp up... lol

Can someone explain?

leave it on 200, then touch the pointers of the DMM together and see what it reads

Turn down your DMM to something closer to what you are expecting to read..

on 200 it reads 0.1

and 200 is the lowest the DMM can go cyantist...

true that hey.... lol

if its reading 0.1ohms, it sounds like a dead short, and the multimeter leads are whats creating the 0.1ohm resistance...

that should give him a better idea of what the amp will actually see

he's attempting to measure one coil, and getting a dead short it would seem...

sx are dual 2's anyway

mt's are 1.4 or .7,sx's are dual 2,and i dont even think u can special order them in .7
