I know you get a million of these but this one is making me want to throw away my system.
CAR OFF:
Extremely Loud Hissing and buzzing. Clicks when I turn up volume. I can actually hear noise from the disk spinning from my speaks.
CAR ON:
****ING CRAZY LOUD buzzing, and alternator whine. Almost as if the HU is not grounded at all.
THE STORY:
- Had a 5awg to 8awg Scoshe wiring kit = Sounds Perfect
- "Upgraded" to Stinger 4awg to 4awg x2 dist block. There is a dist block after that going from 4awg to 8awg for the comp amp. (Accepts only 8awg) = Tiny alt whine, but it still pissed me off
- Had my system disconnected while I waited for my sub. In that time I organzed the amps etc on an amprack. Dist blocks all mounted on the rack. = LOUD NOISES!!!
WHAT I KNOW
- HU and Amp Grounds are okay (Tried HU ground to neg on battery, same thing)
- RCA are fine
- Noise is gone when rca disconnected from HU and AMP.
THE EQUIPMENT
- Kenwood MP5something (couple years old)
- Fosgate 600.4 bridged (for comps)
- Crystal Mobile Comps
- Xenon 600.1
- RL-P 12 (sub is fine, maybe because freq. are too high?)
I'm thinking that the HU is bad, but could a bad HU even make noises like this? How can I test this?
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thanks in advance for the helping.
