jobs setting up audio equipment

we are all messing with you

getting a degree in anything audio/visual is a ton of math and physics

I dont know what the pay is but im sure its decent, plus you are doing something you like

im looking to get a degree in audio engineering, but i wanting to know some jobs that are available for this.
There is not much work in studio/recording type work anymore. Very competetive, but there is plenty of work as a live audio engineer for many different types of fields. I have made my living as a Live Audio Engineer for over 20 years. Just a few jobs off the top of my head.
Live audio engineer- theater, concert or broadcast

Audio Visual technician, convention, event, etc

Audio for video engineer, live/tv/film/post/etc

Union Stagehand- sound engineer specialty/journeyman

System engineer-Audio Production company

Band or show Audio engineer - Tourning, broadcast, event or recording

Sound designer-Theater, tv, film or video games

Pay:

Low = $21k - $35k

Mid = $35k - $60k

High = $60 - $130

Being skilled in more than one area can keep you working even when your coworkers can't find enough work. No degree needed, but helpfull. Good tech school is almost equal to a real degree in this feild but experience or apprenticeships with big companies or shows and union membership are much more important than school. Who you know, if people like working with you and if you can do the job competently without the client complaining is what seperates the guys who make $20k versus the guys who make $90k.
