Ive personally never gave a sub a "break in" period...hooked it up and wanged away...itll break in by itself

Unless your pushing it wayyy over the limits for SPL.

But i had my TypeR 15 on 2000watts and just installed it and throw some Late Night Tip on...i did notice maybe a week lata it sounded better on the lows than when i first got it....just my experience

Id be willing to bet it was hooked wrong or something else that made it lock up

And in case someone asks.....yes i are cool

 
christ there is no break in time, play it responsible. all subs will loosen up (like supas mom) over time.

it locked up because you miss treated it,

or the shop does not know how to set it up correctly. and you still miss treated it.

 
so what you're trying to say is...

you spent probably 2 g's on a setup that woulda cost anyone who RESEARCHED the products 1g to install...

and you broke it..

wow. might as well have saved the $$ and bought 500 bucks of Audiobahn and blown it up in the same amount of time.
