I was looking at the specifications of them last night and they are near identical. Differences I saw are the cone area, RMS (600 JL vs 1000 SQL), Sensitivity (87.6 JL vs 92 SQL), and weight (17.75 lbs JL vs 26 lbs SQL). With that in mind plus the ratings I have read, I believe the SQL will edge out the W3.
I think a better comparison to the SQL would be the 12w6v3.

I'd take the SQL over the w3 in a heartbeat.

The SQL will give you harder hitting bass. The 13w3 will give you smoother deeper bass.

I don't think 700rms is enough for the SQL12 maybe a SQL 10 or Kicker Qclass 10
