It Has Begun... donpisto's '06 G35 Sedan Install

Check it, this is the new fad in SQ. It's like having a dashmat... everywhere! Say goodbye to unwanted reflections.

This one is the most important, because it helps defuse sound right at the listening point

And to protect your nice car and expensive audio gear, one of these are necessary.

Lol....wow, this is beyond decked out. I don't know if I would even drive this if I were paid to

Wow beautiful car, just not feeling the wheels. You need some low offset works or volks on that bish asap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
I'd love to have Works or Volks, but then I'd have to dip into my pockets quite a bit :/

Looks good for sure, and nice to not have the rubber bands any more on there. One of the reasons I could never drive a lowered car, I can't stand slowing down for bumps or pot holes or whatever. But that look makes it all worth it.
Nice to hear the ride is even better with the coil overs compared to stock too. Gotta be a blast to drive and the white/black looks awesome.

Can't wait to see all the audio installed gonna be a killer car inside and out.

I kinda wish I had better coilover so I can adjust the stiffness, because when I drive alone, I don't mind the stiff ride, but my gf doesn't like it. It's semi stiff right now, but there are times when the bottom of the front of the car will scrape the ground while on the freeway.

As for the install, it won't happen for quite some time since money is tight, maybe not for another year (hopefully not that long). So for the time being, the Zapco amps are for sale. I will be using them in the future, so I'll just buy them again.

Dope, not on these. These are the Basics. With Flex and Mono Flex series I can. If I got the Megan Coilovers I'd be able to as well, but I didn't know how they would ride and for the best combo of ride quality and performance, this was the best choice.

Down the line I'll probably get the upgraded model with the EDFC so I can adjust the stiffness or softness of the ride from inside.

Oh and ..

Nope, no need for a LOC. Actually quite simple to just pull from either behind the HU or at (but BEFORE) the OEM amp. This is flat and unamplified. Splice in a set of RCAs and your set.

As for what will fit in the doors .. 10s are cake. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Oh really? Hmmm, I think you have persuaded me to go back to sticking with 10's. If I'm using the Alpine H650, how would I go about doing so? I should keep it close to the head unit for a balanced signal since I'm using the Zapco's right?

What rims are those? Sorta look like the G37 rims.

You could just convert to RCA and input to the 650 that way. Balanced wouldnt matter ...your source isnt balanced so the rest is irrelevant.
Theyre 19" TSW Lagunas staggered.
Ah, gotcha...so I'd need an aftermarket HU so I can go balanced. Thanks for the info. Rims are really nice by the way.

Nope, no audio updates at all. Right now I'm focusing more on performance upgrades.

I had to sell my Zapco CK 16.2's, the 9.0 and the 4.0 so the setup might go into another direction. As for now, only thing I have in mind audiowise is getting an amp that does 500-600w @ 4 ohms and building an enclosure for the 15w6. Only problem is that I don't want to spend more than 30 bucks on an amp partly due to funds, partly because I'm lazy, and partly because I wanna stick to performance right now.

As for vehicle updates there have been a few. I'm going to sell my Tein Basic coilovers shortly and pick up some Function & Form Type II coilovers and lower the car some more. Also got the 19" Rays which I'll paint matte black soon. Doing an emblemless grill as well. I'll have new pics once I get the wheels painted, so maybe in a 2-3 weeks.
