It baffles me

RF did not really have all red amps that I can recall. Most of their early amps were all black..then silver with gold end caps also had red/grey. Then on to other crap models after that.
must be painted, if they want 699 think it could be a painted t2000-t4000???

Dammit. I cant find any pics of it. It looked just like the power series now but it was like maroon with the black heat sinks around the outside. It was huge. I guess it could have maybe been a cover made for it or something

I was told over Christmas by my 10 year old daughter that I need to start coloring my hair. She said the grey is starting to show through now....then she paused.....and said...well if you wait a little longer you won't have to worry about most of your hair will you?

rough im not there yet lol

I think it's a multi part answer gucci. Why would you buy a IA 20.1? They hold power at ultra low voltages and will accept 16v supply if you want to give that to them. They are WAY underrated. They are cheater amps. You can wire them to a near dead short and they are fine. They are some of the highest quality amps out.

Let me give you an example. My friend (safaribass) runs two IA 20.1's in his van on 4 18's in a 6th order bandpass. He runs MECA which now has power caps on classes. So now you have to run a certain amount of fusing and can't have an amp rated over x watts to stay in this class. His 20.1's put out clean power so he can hold his fuse. (clipping will pop them QUICK). They are really efficient and he can wire them down LOW to get way more power on a burp. So in his case they are worth it.

For a street beater who doesn't want to watch their voltage all the time, that IA will put out more power and last WAY longer than a crappy chinese made amp. You will pay to get that chinese amp repaired a bunch of times, or replacement amps, shipping or any number of things that will add up to the cost of doing it right the first time. But when you just look at it as though 2000 watts costs 250.00 here and 800 dollars here, you aren't looking at it correctly. That 250.00 amp's msrp isn't 250.00. It's really like 699.99. You're comparing to the msrp of the IA.

When I was young a 50 watt amp was really 1500 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gif

Dont know how many on this forum will actually get this reference, but ****... i miss those days bro...

99% of this forum is to young to know and may only get it if they were told or heard of those days.

I just realized. I'm old //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Right there with you guys. My first "real" system was a "50w." Lol. HiFonics Ulysses on a pair of Savard 15's. Man, how awesome was old school HiFi? Had that in a sealed box (of course) stuffed in the cargo af a Geo Metro. It HAD to be 160db's. Lmao.

Kids on here think stuff made in '05 is old school. Old school is Punch 45's or red Orion 225's in 0-150w class. And your dam highs amp counted. Lol. USACi was using "Flashdance" and install and SQ was included in your score. No duct tape or MDF in sight.

Ahhh... the glory days. THOSE were cheater amps. A "50w" doing upwards of 800w. I swear, if USACi would let me have multiple amps in 0-600w, I'd track down 12 Orion 225's and get to work.

id rather pay audiopipe 400 for 3500w of the same proven Chinese copy of a xenon board everyone else has. LOL
Fixed for ya

This^ So many of these amps on the market are very similar. But have tweeks from the manu you wouldn't recognize that yields different results. Therefore a price difference in 2 amps with seemingly identical board layouts. Some handle low loads, low voltage, high voltage, make rated at 12v or 14v. Like ecrack said its all about your setup and what will work best. Some amps are better suited for burps some for big batt bank ground-pounder style setups and some double as smoke machines.
