Is the JL 1000/1 even any good? I havent seen that in person. I was curiouse because I know a guy selling one for $450. I was thinking about picking it up if its even any good
When I was young a 50 watt amp was really 1500 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gifWhen I was younger if you wanted 2500 rms it was 1200-1500.
So true, I'm glad I sold out back in '04. If I would have even waited another year I would have taken a huge loss I think.internet boom killed the local shop... it really did. thats why it is near impossible to find QUALITY shops anymore. SOO much different than when some of us were coming up
I was mostly looking at this from an online shop point of view. I know as a shop you and the supplier have to make a profit. I don't visit many shops simply because I've never had any outstandingly good experiences with them. I just hope you don't charge your customers 1500 dollars for a 3500w amp.

recently i have started collecting old school fosgate stuff, and it really is built heavy duty, and made to last the years.it's sad too, to see what RF has come to in the past few years... the huge difference in the current situation, and how they started out (back when there were just "fosgate" amps that is)... but thats a whole other thread

i wish i would have been around for those days, and i would still love to have a couple of the old "underrated" amps for the new power ratting cap that meca is putting in.99% of this forum is to young to know and may only get it if they were told or heard of those days.

RF did not really have all red amps that I can recall. Most of their early amps were all black..then silver with gold end caps also had red/grey. Then on to other crap models after that.Theres a RF amp at our pawn america in burnsville that is a massive red thing. Idk what model it is. Neither did the people that work there lol. Im assuming it was an older 4000 to 4500? They wanted 699 for it
