How do companies like IA make 2k amps for 720.00, and stay in business? Even less reasonable is the SAZ2500 for 815.00.

I mean i understand that they're nice amps, but paying for 3 watts on the dollar is a little extreme, I don't care how nice the amp is. There are PLENTY of amps that provide similar performance, for MUCH less. I'm not talking budget amps either Massive Audio, Audioque, and a few other companies all make GOOD amps for half the MSRP of some of these other amps.

Ok...let me ask you this.

Have you ever worked in a retail sales outlet...of any kind?

If not, then you likely don't understand dealer cost vs MSRP/MAP from a basic business view.

To simplify things. If it 'costs' you $X per hour to get out there and do your job, just to break even...would you:

A) charge your customers that same $X to do the job?

Or

B) mark up the cost of your time to a point at which it is both reasonably profitable for you and reasonably priced to the customer?

Think about your job and the $ you make for the time you spend working. Now think about how mainstream 12v stuff is whored out online for crazy discounts vs MAP pricing.

Now, compare those #'s to your own hourly pay.

WOULD YOU CONTINUE TO WORK AT YOUR JOB IF YOUR EMPLOYER SUDDENLY DROPPED THE PRICE OF YOUR LABOR BY THE SAME AMOUNT?

For instance. Say you are making $15/hr...then your employer says, 'hey, John-Doe we are going to drop you to $10/hr but you still have to do everything you did in the past and stay on quota". Would you be pissed? Would you stay w/ this job?

Just a little food for thought.

I understand supply and demand and market forces. I'm a fan of capitalism, but seriously, you can't possibly justify paying 800 dollars for 2500w

I could rationalize the 2500 for that price, but the full MSRP is ridiculous, and I'm sure if jacob catches wind of this thread he's going to come in and tell us about how quality has a price and people trying to pick up their product for cheap is ruining the market and driving their profits into the ground. But if they're not making sufficient profit off of an 800 dollar amp, they don't deserve to make one.
