No rep was mentioned so who would be getting in trouble
it's sad too, to see what RF has come to in the past few years... the huge difference in the current situation, and how they started out (back when there were just "fosgate" amps that is)... but thats a whole other threadyou know whats even less reasonable than that fosgate t1500-1bdcps are $1000
I could rationalize the 2500 for that price, but the full MSRP is ridiculous, and I'm sure if jacob catches wind of this thread he's going to come in and tell us about how quality has a price and people trying to pick up their product for cheap is ruining the market and driving their profits into the ground. But if they're not making sufficient profit off of an 800 dollar amp, they don't deserve to make one.
Once you get into RF, JL, Kicker, and the others you get into dealer setups as well. You also have to pay for their marketing budgets which is where much of that inflated pricing comes in for them.you know whats even less reasonable than that fosgate t1500-1bdcps are $1000
You have to actually have used both to make that call. Other wise your choice is based off of what others have said.I would take my saz-3500 for 850 over the aq-3500 any day of the week..
Is the JL 1000/1 even any good? I havent seen that in person. I was curiouse because I know a guy selling one for $450. I was thinking about picking it up if its even any goodOnce you get into RF, JL, Kicker, and the others you get into dealer setups as well. I would not pay $450 for it. Is it good, yes and is very flexible for installs and keeping it's rated power. However, there are many other amps for better pricing that can do just as good of a job.Is the JL 1000/1 even any good? I havent seen that in person. its a solid amp.... just way overpriced for what you get (goes with what rabbit was sayin, where you end up paying for their marketing costs)... if you can get it cheap enough, it's worth it.Is the JL 1000/1 even any good? I have played with sundown.. Not the 3500 admittedly. My cousin has the aq3500 and dropped it to get 2 saz-2500s. Now hes strapped both at .25 eaYou have to actually have used both to make that call. Other wise your choice is based off of what others have said.
Each amp can/will do better then the other given the correct application for each.
what he's saying, is that unless you have tested both products with same conditions, vehicle, electrical, load (or even better yet, bench testing) you really cant compare the 2... just WAY too many variablesI have played with sundown.. I was mostly looking at this from an online shop point of view. I know as a shop you and the supplier have to make a profit. I don't visit many shops simply because I've never had any outstandingly good experiences with them. I just hope you don't charge your customers 1500 dollars for a 3500w amp.Your lack of understanding of the retail business world is what baffles me.
I applaud Sundown for strictly implementing MAP pricing. They (along w/ the other brands I carry) help to keep me in a job. These lines have built a retail backbone for their company and have not turned their back on them. They help drive local economies.
I sell to my customers at a reasonable price...I stay working. I keep selling/working, I order my product. I order more product, the Manu/Dist stays in business. They stay in business and make a reasonable profit, they continue to offer quality product for me to purchase and resale. I stay in business, my customers stay happy w/ the product/services I sell.
Ever wonder why so many "cheap" brands exist? Its because the average (uninformed) joe wants more for less. Take the whored-out-online business model to the extreme (aka crap like boss audio) and you get a $100 "5000w" amp.
