Issue with LOC and remote turn on.

I bought an LOC2 and wired it into the harness that plugs into the head unit, to convert it to RCA for my amp, but the amp won't turn on, because it isn't getting any power from the remote turn on wired to the LOC. The only reason I can think for why this is happening is because I didn't wire the 12v power or ground wires into anything. Reviews for the LOC I have say I don't need to wire them into anything, so I'm not sure if I really do need to or not. Do I need to? If so where do I wire them too and how?

The loc has to be powered. Worst case tap them into the same power and ground as your amp, or use an add-a-fuse
