a good set of headphones will destroy several thousands of dollars in car audio in sq. no contest. but its headphones. SOME car audio will be able to hold its own, but headphones DIRECT the sound DIRECTLY into your ear...in the car, you are fed signals that have bounced off of numerous surfaces and have distorted. its uneven because you're a different distance from each speaker....its no contest. you'd have to spend many thousands of dollars for good speakers and many hours customizing your ride with kick panels and pods that deliver the sound directly to you, unimpeeded.

You cant feel the music with headphones.

you havent heard too many cars that pass an imaging test i bet lol add that to the shear power difference i think most will agree car>headphones

im talking sq only, im not speaking about spl, the distances between the speakers can only be compensated for so much...you can only put so much deadening inside a cars shell, there are so many angles for the sound to bounce off of that it becomes uneven exposure. a good set of headphones is so much more balanced and high quality that its no contest. and like i said, SOME car audio systems are built like tanks and can deliver insane sq, but in reality, MOST headphones will beat MOST car systems as far as sq is concerned.

20-35 hz has a feel too it though even in a live performance headphones wont do that
