Let's just say I have close to 3k rms on a stock electrical system. Do I NEED a bigger alt to run the system or will i be fine with a new batt under the hood and 1 in the back and 0/1 gauge for the big 3?

EDIT: The reason I ask is b/c I will be getting my sis's car soon and I don't think I'll have it long enough to buy a brand new alt that I cant transfer to my next car. I don't wanna waste the money if i dont need to.

New alternators will cost you some money. If your going to get a new car soon I wouldn't buy it but if you are going to have that car for a while then yes I highly recommend you getting a better alternator.

I understand you get what you pay for...motor city reman has so relatively inexpensive ones but I have heard bad things. Also mean green and excessive amperage have decently prices ones and advance auto parts also sells them but for roughly $300. They are powermaster brand.
