i'm running a 10" 2 ohm pioneer DVC with 350 W RMS

with a GM-5100T amp (pioneer) and each 2 ohm channel of the amp is running to each coil.

am i only getting 190W rms power basically? would it be much better to get a monoblock to run at 1 ohm and then hook it up to both coils?

idk, i feel like i should be hittin a LOT more.

you could get a little more from it by getting a better amp but the best thing you can do for a sub is put it in a really good enclosure

is wiring 2 ohms to both coils basically like having it hit twice as hard? or how does that work really? the dvc that is. my box is ported. im guessing about 12"x12"x18"

having each coil wired to a diffrent channel could be causing cancelation in the coil if the signal is not the same. wiring the sub to 4 ohms and bridging the amp will give you the same power as each channel at 2 ohm but it will be one signal. as far as the box goes just being ported means nothing you can reach full potential from the sub in the right box without more power it depends on the size of the box and tuning wich i dont think you you the tuning of your box. the position of the box and port makes a diffrence to as well as the size and type of port

Yes. Only thing is the leads will be encased in resin. Keep in mind that this is an assumption.

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.

Speaker ratings are generally a thermal/mechanical limitation of the drivers. Music is dynamic, not continuous. During quiet periods a song, you...
