so call your bank. let them know you think something fishy is going on and you will update them with what happens with the situation.

With eBay, you have to wait for 10 days to file anything. Paypal you can do it whenever you want to. And contrary to what has been posted, weather he has removed the money from his account or not, Paypal will give you yours back in the case of a fraudulant sale. Go on Paypal and open the DETAILS of your payment and file a claim with the full explanation.

well if he's already shipped it, what's there to worry about? he told you $60 for shipping so it should only be $60. If it cost him more to ship, that's his problem not yours and it said insurance was also included.

just look at the shipping sticker when you get it. no way it was $174. I've shipped boxes that weigh 80 lbs for $40.

paypal has been helpful for me during these situations. Call them on the phone and explain it to them say it sounds like a scam. Talk to the guy and see if he will comply if not. PP will freeze both accounts so he cant take ur money and run. If they rule in your favor you get all your money back no questions asked. This has happened to me before on a few occasions. Good luck but this is definitly a scam dont ask for more money. This guy is an idiot.

They charge you by how much room the package takes up in the truck. Unless it's heavy enough to where they have to pay two guys to ride around in the truck because one can't lift it, they won't charge extra based on weight.

not true (at least not in my experience). i won my case for a non delivered item, and recieved $74.16 back out of a $250 case, and the other 3 guys that got scammed got $0 from him.

everyone of us filed a claim with our credit card company and got our money back in full.

not sure what happened there, but if you paid and did not receive your item, you are entitled a refund. Whatever though, good luck getting a refund from the scammer.

That's why it's best to always pay by credit card with paypal, so if you do get scammed you can file a chargeback with your CC company.

how about debit using the bank, can your bank do a chargeback?

if you use the visa/mastercard logo bearing debit card?

Turns out the guy is legit. HELL YYYEEEAAAHHH!!! He sent me a response after I filed a claim on paypal. Its funny the UPS office didn't get his billing info till about an hour after I filed the claim. coincidence???hahaa. The package weighed a whopping 122lbs!! D@mn I feel like a semi has just been lifted off my shoulders. So what should I do about the $174 he asked for. I wasn't going to pay more than $450 for this system. But I would feel bad since he has communicated well with me (even though he has been reeeaaalll slow about shipping it) and I wouldn't want to pay someone else's shipping if I was the seller. Especially $174.

What do you guys think?....

that is clearly his fault. I wouldn't pay it. He should of gotten a better estimate before hand.

You purchased the item because you agreed on the price. He can't back up and ask for more money. 1. thats bad business 2. he must be stupid.

If he underestimated shipping from $60 to $234... he is trying to get money from you because he didn't like where the auction ended up. Period.
