i went to the local shop and the guy said that the alpine Type-S are better than the jl audio w6. wouldnt the w6 be more comperable(so?) to the type-r? what rockford sub is at about the same level in terms of performance to the w6, and which alpine sub? hope that makes sense...thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

w6 is prolly more comparable to the type r, although type s's have decently high power handling and are clean sounding....rockford is not comparable to anything....not anything that sounds good and clean anyways....

The new W6v2 would be like the Type R. The old W6 would be like the Type S. Thats what i think

ok guy that killed his jls? either u had the w0s or you just though u could run alot of power to them because i know plenty of people including my self who have or have had jls in there ride and my one guys had the w3s in his ride for bout 2 years n they still bangin so you must of done something stupid, imo i dont like the alpine subs, but thats just my opinion.....peece

whats the peak power rating of the W6? i know the rms is 300W but how much can u really feed it? also, any suggestions for an amp to power a 10W6? preferably 4 ohm and itll be getting 12V

Didn't mean they actually blew....they just didn't bump like my type s's did....the type s's were also cleaner sounding......same box same amp everything.....just the types's out performed the w0's....

Maybe the box??? The W0 is more impressive than the Type s...easily...

not sure about the w6, but i had a 12w3 that i was running over 700 watts to as a daily driver for about a year, never sounded bad, never blew.
