Is this car worth $2000..??

i gotta butt in man...the mazda mx6/ probes are not cheap easy cars to work on and it will nickle and dime you to death down the road i suspect...i am not a newb to cars at all either so please dont just blow this off, i'd truthfully recommend about anything rather than this choice...

Yea I suppose you guys are right. I'm not budging from 2200 and he's not budging from 2500. I drove it today and it seemed pretty solid. Motor had alot more power than i thought it would but did hear some noise in the rear going over bumps. Could be struts. Could be worse. Who knows. The windshield had a rock chip then spidered a single line across the bottom of the window about a foot long. Hardly noticable but will need to get fixed eventually

shit. Now I don't know what to do. Finding a good car for 2000-3000 is alot tougher than I thought it would be. Maybe try to find a 96 ish civic or something? All it's gonna be is a commuter/miles car but I don't want it to just be a pile of shit ( to look at )either

The car seems nice enough but I don't know if I should be expecting a ton from a 1994 for 2500 bucks

what a bummer day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

It's not worth it if these are the Mazdas made by Ford, Trust me! Madza was on Honda, Nissan, and Toyota level before Ford touched them. Get and Honda if you're going to get something high mileage.

Yea man, I was under the assumption Mazda was good.. Its a tough call and like I said its tough to even find ANY descent car for a few grand.. Maybe I should just say "F" it and save my money for what I was looking for in my other thread.. a 2000-2001 mustang/camaro and just have a fun/summer car ..?? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

If speed is of no concern go with a toyota corolla great gas mileage no timing belt(gots a chain)they don't look to bad mine is about to hit 200,000 and I have driven the h*ll out of it, come to think of it the only thing I have replaced in over 3yrs is a serpentine belt and exhaust gasket the only other car I have had that was this reliable was my supra(still a toyota) but I would stay away from ford especially the 3.8l!

if I do go with a beater, I suppose honda and toyota are the best choices.. But like I said I thought MAzda was up there in quality

Ill search 96-98 civics, corollas , accords etc

Looking for a beater car just to put miles on , since I drive about 600 miles / week.. His price is waaayyyyyy over what it should be.. According to KBB fully loaded in excellent condition its valued at $2095.. Thinking about offering him $2K cash.. Thoughts?
*GREAT CAR* 1994 MAZDA MX6 V6 SPORT
THat 1993 is not worth 2000 bucks. and also, you drive 600 miles a week to add on top of the already 120,ooo miles? Dont even think about buying this unless you plan to replace just about everything on it.

GO look for a car in some retirement communities. they have excellent deals in there.

Yea I drive alo of miles. But like I said I was unde the assumption these were like hondas where you could get 250000+ out of them. Plus also like hondas I thought they were cheap to repair.

Well I guess the search continues for a 2000 ish civic or accord 5 speed.

I'm still debating just saying f it tho as far as getting a mileage car. Just fixing the one I have and getting a nice 2000-2001 camaro or mustang to build up and play with inthe summertime. I think those are both running around $8000-$9000 for a nice one. Which is from what I can see only $2000 more than a nice 2000 civic

Ahhhh the joys of car buying. Last time I bought a car (2002 Mitsubishi diamanté ) it was nothing but problems. Rear pillow bushings, tcu, ecu , the alternator ( I actually have a thread about the voltage issue probably on here ) ****** and heater core. It's just a mess.
So now I'm trying to search problems on the mx6. I KNOW it won't be near as expensive to fix but I wanna know if I should expect anything bad to happen considering there's 132000 miles on it. But I do really like it
Thats because you bought a used Mitshu dia, really?

Might want to be more clear with that bolded part there buddy.

really, really.... I did a quick search on the net didnt see any defects or recalls, car looks awesome and rides great, but the heater core issue is a pretty big problem.. My bad for not catching it.. But hopefully after I loop the heater core lines together and just bypass it, It will get me a chance to get the thing up and running again, and actually be able to drive it
