Is there something better and hits harder than a 12" HCCA?

i cant wait till the HCCA nut huggers come in here talking about no mechanical limit and 4 inches of excursion and it takes more power then any other and blah blah blah....just like every other hcca thread

as far as subs i would take over the hcca i would go with an eclipse 9122 or the SSA Zcon even tho i havent heard one yet or the IA warden if u have the monies

ya as mentioned go a different route... orions have always sounded like puke to me. I know they can get loud but if thats all you care about theres still better to be had like some of the guys mentioned.

AQ HDC3 series
compared 1 to 1... no. the hdc3 is a great sub, but the hcca can get louder. not saying it will sound better. the hdc3 is a very good sub, and if the OP has the room, he could have a much nicer set up, for the price... but thats if he has the room to run multiple hd's

If you want loud then the HCCA is pretty good. The loudest can also be based on car environment, enclosure, amp, wiring, etc..... I'd stay with the HCCA and invest in a better head unit and amp. Just my two cents.

On a personal note, I used to run old school Orion XTRs/ XTRs - Ferrofluid injected. Although not the loudest, they were excellent sq subs and decent spl. Bottom line, the old school Orion is way out of the league of the current Orion line up.

Good luck.

Overall loudness is mainly dependent on the install. Sub A vs. Sub B that can both handle 3kw and get hella loud isn't going to give you a big difference in overall loudness. Just choose a badass sub and focus on trying to make it loud instead of relying on the sub to make you loud. There's only so much a sub can do on it's own...

Don't listen to most of these people. There are few subs out there that can match an hcca in pure output and moving mass. Probably one of the few that could match it would be the newer xxx

He still works there? Last time i heard he quit or got fired

t3 is a good company...tsns is a pretty tight sub... the motor is what really makes it, but you can call up T3 and talk to ed for all of your tech questions... that man knows more about car audio than most can hope to learn in a few lifetimes

so thats why you see so many hcca setups cracking 180 right?

op. the hcca will get loud. but as far as sounding good in a daily setup, well thats debatable. personally i think they sound like chit. just my .02

if you want something truly wild then hit up SPLaudio on here and talk to him. he can build you a custom monster.

Tought the hcca had a huge motor and then took it apart and the magnets didn't go though all the way. So not actually as big as it looks. Still a good sub though

thats how i felt when I saw the exploded schematic of my old old old P1 punches, the boot looks huge, but I've seen bigger magnets on component speakers, honestly.

man if you realy want spl plus loudnesss?!!?!?!?!?!?! go with boss nothing can out bump those //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif jk but it does depend on your setup and ride ect...

Are you saying that I should replace the jack on the headunit with a wire instead? Is that fairly simple? I'd imagine you would just need to make...

9512 lol If you're in that realm of woofers, there's quite a good selection outside of those 2, but DD is a very good pick IMO.

2.5 cubic feet per subwoofer not total. Those X's require some room.
