When a shop owner has never heard of ID, RE, Fi, IA, Adire, AE, TC/AudioPulse, etc... then chances are their experience runs no deeper than RF, JL, Sony, Kenwood, Alpine... I can get that kind of knowledge talking to the kid who works at BestBuy or CircuitCity.

While I agree to an extent, knowing at least some of those brands would show the person has an interest in the industry beyond collecting a pay check. You dont have to know how to sell/repair/drive a Honda to know they exist, right?

exactly. a good shop would make sure there employees are up to date in the world of car audio.

I wouldn't you want to know what the shop down the street, or across the country what kinda of work is being produced. there is a few shops in my town that the owner started out at CC and thinks he knows it all. I don;t mean to be racist but he is mexican and the only reason he stays in open is all the mexicans caome to him

It takes practice man, i sucked too, when i was 15 i replaced my door speakers with legacy 6"s in a 51/4 hole and broke the door panel trying to get it off. It takes time, practice, patience, and reading up.

lol. car toys did a 40,000 install in a escalade. 4 jl w7 13, 4 jl 1000 custom box with small *** ports. When I went up with my 2 15 with a sundown 3000 and smoked him. I went to the car toys that did the install and said epic fail!!!!about 3 shops in co know what sundown, fi, dc, ssa, tc subs are amazingly
