16v or 12v system

ok so i have a alt that will run 12v - 19.1v and also have a step down module for it. im currently in the process of buying my system. so far i bought the 200 amp alt and a kicker kx 2500.1 would it be better for me to run a 16v system or a 12v system and why? if i were to run it at 16v would there be anything i would have to do other than add the 16v bat?

I run dual set up, no need for step downs or dual post batteries.

keep in mind, some comp. divisions will not let you compete with 16V systems....

oh i forgot to say that its going to be a daily driver. not really concerned about the comp part

I didnt think the kicker amp could handle 16 volts or higher. Being you said this is daily and your 16 volt would need to be charged at a higher voltage the amp will see that same voltage.

Just do 12volt. IMO. Its safe for all things and do you really need like that little bit of power just for daily driving.

if you run in super street and on in dbdrag you can run 16v to 18 volt but make sure your amp will take that
