Is it very complicated? I really appreciate this help btw though thank you.if you buy a dmm and need help using it, i can take some pics this weekend and post them to show you how to test everything

Ill play with them just a bit to diagnose if that is the problem.i wouldn't play with them, if you move one, you have to move the other exactly the same amount....up is clockwise and down is counter...
start by turning them both all the way down and then turn them both the same amount of turns up. be careful not to turn them up too far!
