Install question about the pioneer avh-p4200dvd

Today I attempted to install a car stereo for the first time. I put the p4200dvd along with the gmc harness into a 2005 chevy trailblazer. At first it appeared to be working but we then realized the sound cuts off after playing for just a matter of seconds. It seems that the sound will work when the door is open but when the door is closed it will stop playing. It seems maybe it works better when you just have the key turned to acc. then being fully turned on but that might just of been a random time. Im pretty sure we got all the wires tightly secured and followed the directions. the only wires left unattached were for the remote and one other random one. Does anyone have any clue what would cause this issue? Please help if you can.
